This week we decided to tackle “songs that take me back to childhood.” Songs our parents played on the stereo while we were young; songs we heard on the radio or (*ahem*) 8 track player while we stood in the back seat along for the ride. Join us as we walk down memory lane…

and the list could go on and on and on. a few more that I have to mention: the entire ‘grease’ album, the entire ‘saturday night fever’ album. and wow, do I miss the mammoth-sized brown stereo that used to play our beloved records over and over. feels like such a long time ago.

ive got to say that after looking at all of the lists, i was reminded of a number of songs i’d completely forgotten about! Harden My Heart (Quarterflash) Young Hearts (or is it Young Turks) by Rod Stewart, lots of KC & the Sunshine Band, and of course, the Bee-Gees. love it!

All I can think reading these lists is that you’re all so young! 😉 I grew up in the 60’s, so what I used to love in my parents’ stash of LP’s included anything by Sergio Mendes (hip again via Wil.I.Am) and “I’m in with the In Crowd” by Ramsey Lewis…and all that great cocktail/lounge music in its first go-round (before we came back to it in places like SOMA in S.F. in the 80’s…Pink Martini before there was a Pink Martini, at least early P.M.) From my own stash it would have been the Stones’ “Between the Buttons”…the Beatles’ “Rubber Soul”…and, yes (cringe) the Monkees….later I was smitten with “Sgt. Pepper’s…” and “Abbey Road.” And then I discovered Stevie Wonder…and found where I wanted to be…
